EA Play will reveal Battlefield 2042’s highly anticipated REDACTED mode.
DICE is set to reveal the highly anticipated Battlefield 2042 REDACTED mode at EA Play today starting at 7 PM CEST/10 AM PDT. Up until now, DICE has not given us many details on what the REDACTED mode entails, but in a recent pre-show for EA Play Live, it was confirmed that the mode will feature some maps from previous titles.
New teasers in recent days have also confirmed this with the likes of Bad Company 2’s Valparaiso clearly being visible.
Battlefield 2042 Battle Hub
One of the biggest rumours floating around about the REDACTED mode is that it will feature some kind of Battle Hub experience where players can play on previous Battlefield maps, as well as using old weapons and vehicles.
The Battle Hub was something first leaked on Reddit but I also received additional details and screenshots myself, which I covered in a recent YouTube video.
With the additional teasers from DICE on the new mode, it seems increasingly likely that the Battle Hub is becoming a reality, with the recent teasers showing off old vehicles from previous titles.
The Battle Hub is essentially a hub for all previous Battlefield maps, weapons, vehicles, and more, where players will be able to experience it all in one place.
As of yet, DICE has not acknowledged the Battle Hub (or whatever it will be called), but it’s clear that information will be revealed today.
What to expect from Battlefield 2042 at EA Play
Unfortunately, this year’s EA Play Live will only be around 40 minutes in length, which doesn’t give EA a lot of time to give us as many details as we may want on the new mode.
It’s very likely that during EA Play Live, we will only be getting a gameplay reveal trailer with the possibility of a small segment of the developers talking about the mode.
After the show, the official Battlefield website will be updated and more additional details about the REDACTED mode will be shared.
As I’ve mentioned on my Twitter in previous weeks, I was told that information and clarification in regard to Battlefield 2042 will come thick and fast with around 9 trailers lined up before the game’s release.
All signs are pointing to Battlefield 2042 and the Battle Hub leaks being true, but as always, you should always take leaks and rumours with a grain of salt.
