Who is Richter Belmont?

Castlevania Fandom

Richter Belmont is a young, badass-looking vampire hunter clad in a blue, and is reminiscent of Ash from The Evil Dead.

Appearing as the protagonist of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Richter is a descendant of Sypha and Trevor Belmont.

Richter is described as a bit of a hothead and one of the strongest hunters in the Belmont family, wielding the Sacred Whip which has been passed down through generations.

Who is Maria Renard?

Castlevania Fandom

Maria Renard is a cute character from Konami’s Castlevania series, who is a long-lost relative of the Belmont Clan.

She is a vampire huntress equipped with her expertise in magic, animal spirits, and the four, celestial beasts.

Maria first appeared in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood as a twelve-year-old adversary for Dracula’s pawns.

During her plight to defeat Dracula’s army, Maria was captured and imprisoned in his castle, and was later rescued by Richter Belmont.

What Will the Spin-Off Be About?

Netflix announced that the spin-off series will be rooted in Castlevania lore, revolving around Richter and Maria in 1792 France during the events of the French Revolution.

Richter and Maria meet during Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, therefore, the spin-off could be based around the scenarios that occur during the 1993 platformer.

Richter’s girlfriend Annette from Aljiba could also make an appearance if the Rondo of Blood narrative is followed, and the spin-off should carry a similar satirical tone to the original adaptation we have grown to love.
