Here’s how you can find and use the Greydwarf Eye in Valheim.
Valheim by Iron Gate is one of the latest sandbox-survival games to take the world by storm. Fans of games such as The Forest or Ark: Survival Evolved will feel right at home in the world of Valheim, a huge fantasy world inspired by Norse Mythology and Viking culture. Players must craft armour, build bases, and battle fabled creatures with up to 10 friends.
There are a large number of materials that can be crafted and found in Valheim. One of the earliest drops players will find in the game is the Greydwarf Eye. Although the item is common, they do serve a purpose. Here’s how to find the Greydwarf Eye in Valheim, and how to use it.
How To Find The Valheim Greydwarf Eye
Greydwarf Eyes are drops that can be found by defeating Greydwarves, a fairly common enemy that most players shouldn’t have trouble finding. The Greydwarves can be found in the Black Forest, a biome type that consists of large Pine and Fir Trees. They are not to be confused with their younger counterparts, the Greyling, which will only drop resin and not Greydwarf Eyes.
Greydwarves have a much higher chance of dropping Greydwarf Eyes if they are a higher tier. That means if you’re trying to collect a large amount of Greydwarf Eyes, it’s important to target the higher tier enemies.
How To Use The Greydwarf Eye
Once you’ve collected enough Greydwarf Eyes, you’ll want to put them to good use. As the world of Valheim is so large, the best way for players to get around is to fast travel with the use of portals. The recipe for portals are obtained once the player collects fine wood for the first time, they can then be crafted using:
- 10 Greydwarf Eyes
- 20 Fine Wood
- 2 Surtling Core
Portals will be the best use for Greydwarf Eyes, but there is another use for them. The ward is an item that can be crafted and used to protect an area from other players, by locking doors and preventing new buildings. The ward can be crafted using:
- 5 Greydwarf Eyes
- 5 Fine Wood
- 1 Surtling Core
