Quite notable of all is the introduction of the all-new Zombies map, Mauer Der Toten. Amidst all that, Treyarch Studios has released another update for Cold War today which will be adding a high-resolution texture pack for PS5 owners. Here is all you need to know about it.
Cold War & Warzone High Resolution Texture Pack: What is it?
Activision has released a High-Resolution Texture Pack for PS5 users. Previously, a similar texture pack was released for Warzone. It was sized around 8.4GB on PlayStation consoles and was also available for Xbox owners. The texture pack was “recommended only for PS4 Pro and PS5 players with high-resolution displays.”
Like the Warzone texture pack, we don’t know much about this one as well. Several users have reported that the characters and models do indeed look sharper at 4K resolution after installing the texture pack. Earlier the game was upscaled from 1440p (2K) resolution to 2160p (4K). It might be that the new high-resolution texture pack makes the game run natively at 4K resolution. Until Activision releases further details about the texture pack, we can’t say for sure.
For now, players with high-resolution displays and who own any of the new consoles should definitely try out the next high-resolution texture pack. While it might not make that big of a difference in gameplay, you will still get a visually enhanced experience in the game. We will keep you updated when we learn more about the high-resolution texture pack.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC.
