While people all over the world have been looking forward to games like Resident Evil Village, Death Loop and Ratchet and Clank, I’ve been eagerly anticipating New Pokemon Snap.
For the first time in 20-odd years, I get a brand new entry into one of my favourite games on probably my favourite console.
The game has the same great vibe that the original had, with a nice level of puzzle and intrigue for players to get into, however, there are some questions.
One of those questions that keeps popping up is “What is Auto Select in Pokemon Snap and Should I use It?” – here is our answer and opinion to that question.
So, What Exactly is Auto Select in Pokemon Snap?
The auto select feature in New Pokemon Snap is there to help players choose which of their snaps is going to score highest.
Undoubtedly, as you travel around each location, snapping away on the camera, you will end up with a metric ton of different photographs of the same individual Pokemon or species.
Auto Select will determine for players which of their many different photographs is going to impress Professor Mirror the most.
Should You Use It?
This depends on exactly how much of a challenge you want.
If you’re looking for a casual playthrough, trying to take as many snaps as possible without too much pressure, absolutely use the auto select feature.
If you’re looking to ramp up the difficulty a little, then select the photographs yourself and see how you do. It’s as simple as that.
Personally, I’ll end up doing two playthroughs. Initially, I’m running through using the auto select so I can appreciate the game. On my second playthrough, I’ll opt not to.
