Minecraft 1.17 Snapshot 21w22a – Patch Notes, Release Date, Time (Today, June 2)

If you are an avid Minecraft player, you might be well aware of the plethora of things planned out for the hit title. Minecraft is all set to get the Caves and Cliffs Update next week, and that will be one of the biggest updates for the game in its history.

The update is slated to release in two parts, with the first part Goats, Axolotl, and much more. As fans are eagerly waiting for the update to release they can already try many of those features via the Snapshots that release every week. Here is all you need to know about this week’s Snapshot.

Minecraft 1.17 Snapshot 21w22a – Patch Notes, Release Date, Time (Today, June 2)

If you aren’t aware, Minecraft gets a new Snapshot every Wednesday. Last week there was no Snapshot but we did receive a pre-release update instead. We are not sure whether we will be getting a Snapshot this week or not, as Caves and Cliffs update is slated to release next week.

Usually, the Snapshot releases around 3 pm GMT so you need to wait until then to actually find out. We will be updating the article once the patch notes are released. Until then, you can check out the patch notes for the last Snapshot.

CHANGES IN 21W20A

  • Actually made Geodes rarer this time
  • GUI narration now includes position and usage of hovered or focused element
  • Tilling Rooted Dirt with a Hoe will now convert it into Dirt, and pop out a Hanging Roots item
  • Axolotls will now only play dead when in water
  • Llamas no longer spit at players in peaceful mode

  • Added a new NBT tag for entities – “HasVisualFire” – which will cause any entity with this flag to visually appear on fire, even if they are not actually on fire
