Don’t Expect Saint’s Row, TimeSplitters, Dead Island 2, or Metro at E3 2021

With E3 just under a week away, hype is at an all-time high for new reveals and updates on long-awaited games. But four video game series you won’t be seeing this E3 are Saint’s Row, TimeSplitters, Dead Island 2, or Metro.

In a tweet from games publisher and developer Deep Silver, the company took a moment to let fans know that its parent company, Koch Media, has announced that none of these games or series will be at their E3 event, “or at any other E3 2021 event”.

Koch Media is holding their Koch Primetime Gaming Stream press conference on June 11, so this was clearly announced ahead of time to quell any fan backlash as a result of not seeing any updates on these fan-favorite games and series. In another tweet, Deep Silver confirmed that “We’ll let you know when we have news to share”.

Last month, Deep Silver announced that Saint’s Row The Third: Remastered would be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on May 25, and PC via GOG on May 22. Work on a new TimeSplitters game was also announced, following developers from the original team at Free Radical coming together to create a new entry in the franchise.

Dead Island 2 was announced at E3 2014, and has not received any updates in a while, despite the developers insisting that the long delayed game is still in development. In 2019, it was confirmed that the game is on its third developer, Dambuster Studios, taking over from Sumo Digital following the original developer Yager leaving the project. The latest entry in the Metro series, Metro Exodus, is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on June 18 following its original release in 2019.

It’s probably better that Koch Media took the time to temper fan expectation ahead of E3 beginning. But with these series confirmed to not be making an appearance, it begs the question what will Koch Media be bringing to their showcase? Let us know your predictions in the comments below.
